What a hideous few weeks it’s been outside. Grimmy, grim, grim. However, we’ve felt quite warm and cosy in the workshop – the rain has been beating on the window and it’s made us feel a bit nostalgic for childhood caravan holidays.
We haven’t resorted to scrabble tournaments and fights with siblings though – far too much to do for that!
In a brief lull in the weather Susan nipped outside and made the most of one of our favourite photo shoot locations – a rather gorgeous blue door near the shop.
The acorn workbag was a bespoke commission – the tangerine and chocolate leathers looked so summery against the sun-bleached paintwork – it could easily have been a location in Greece.
Back in the real world of rainy Chulmleigh Hilary was kept busy making some satchels in a mixture of colours.
With plenty of colourful hides to choose from she’s been mixing and matching as the mood takes her.
The sky’s the limit for combinations – what would you pick?
And then, unbelievably, it actually stopped raining!! The horses went back to their paddock and sheep went for a walk up the road to a lovely fresh field (although to be fair, the sheep would have been moved whatever the weather – they’re pretty waterproof). Fingers crossed this is the start of a wonderful, warm, dry spell.
PS We’ve no idea why they need a traffic cone either!
