We’ve been walking round grinning – which to be fair is not unusual as it’s quite smiley round here anyway. But we’ve been extra grinny with all the wonderful sunshine. Everything outside seems hyper-real; the hedgerows, the coast, the lush grass of the horses’ paddock.
And as for the birdsong – unbelievable! We feel a bit like Julie Andrews spinning around at the top of that hill in the Sound of Music.
We’ve made the most of it – we even left the county temporarily and went further south west (where we very rebelliously ate scones with butter, then jam, then cream).
Lots of walks were enjoyed – bridleways, coast paths and lakes all featured. We saw the partial eclipse (yes, very bad photo!) and we admired blossom and fresh green leaves.
Plus we ate absolutely delicious steaks and happened upon some wonderful live music in a secret garden.
And in case you’re wondering, we did actually do some work too…Hilary made a benchful of bespoke treats which are now on their way to their new owners. We also exhibited in the North Devon Show’s virtual craft tent which was a lovely way to connect with people online.
Next on the order list is another bespoke bag made from this fabulous purple hide. Watch this space!
All in all it’s been a very summery couple of weeks. Hope yours has been too 🙂
