Friday 1st October 2021
Well, here we are again in the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness. The summer came and went with the usual levels of hard work (lots of lovely bag orders), random fun (screaming round a festival racetrack in the back of the Challenge Anneka beach buggy anyone?) plus dogs, horses, sunsets, new kitten Bop, harvest, an extremely windy day up a hill, crabbing, beach days…it was, as always, exhausting but just lovely.
And now we’ve reached October and, unsurprisingly, outside the shop window it’s a bit drizzly. We really want a Belgian bun from the bakers round the corner but given the colour of the sky we’ll wait a while (and don’t they say that delayed gratification is a sign of intelligence? In which case we might have to have a sausage roll too).
We also want to stuff our faces with these – the world’s tastiest tomatoes. We’re not kidding, they genuinely are.
Back in the workshop Hilary’s been busy with stuff. Lots of bags in the order book and plenty more in the pipeline in anticipation of craft fair season.
Talking of which, here’s a heads-up of where we’ll be if you fancy an afternoon of gift-shopping later in the autumn.
Saturday 13th November – Artisan Craft Fair, Alphington Village Hall
Saturday 20th November – Christmas Craft Fair, Sandford Parish Hall
Friday 26th November – Crux Craft Fair, Rattery, South Brent
Hope to see you there!
And finally, back in the shop just as the sun comes out and we can go and get those buns Ozzy decides he’s happiest having an afternoon snooze. Can’t say we blame him really!
