Time has whizzed as usual, and here we are in autumn again. (As an aside, the spring and summer were textbook Hilary Johnson Handmade – when we weren’t at work we were mainly enjoying being outdoors, listening to live music, driving around in Hilary’s new horse box, swimming in the sea and chasing escapee sheep out of the kitchen).
In amongst all of the fun Hilary has been working on bespoke orders and experimenting with some new embossed leather for autumn. The smaller size of these tassel totes works really well with the lines on the leather – a classic country look that would be equally at home in town.
And while doing the photoshoot we just couldn’t resist the Hilary Johnson Handmade tradition of roping someone in to hold the bags. This time it was Bob the Builder who obliged outside the shop in a quick break from working on the roof – thanks for stepping in!
Other new bespoke bags that have appeared include an oversized carpet tote and this delicious, soft brown shiny leather twin-handled tote. We’re thinking of making these in coloured leather with brown handles. Watch this space!
